The Largest Planetary Defense Drill in History
and the Fear Behind the Curtain
Ismael Perez:
Around Dec. 19th, ESA, NASA, and more than 23 nations launched the largest planetary defense exercise ever conducted — officially described as a routine preparedness drill.
Unofficially, the timing raised serious questions.
The drill coincided with the close passage of 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar object unlike anything previously observed. While officials insist there was no threat, governments worldwide were fully aware of its proximity by December 19 — and the scale of coordination tells a different story.
This three-part investigation examines:
Why planetary defense suddenly became mission-critical
What sensors detected during the 3I/ATLAS flyby
Why post-event data went quiet instead of transparent
How expert dissent is forming behind closed doors
Why disclosure may now be unavoidable — not through announcements, but erosion
This is not about panic.
It’s about control, uncertainty, and the moment Earth realized it may not be observationally isolated.
The drill may be over.
The reckoning is not.
