Tonight, "The Light Gate," welcomes Robert Salas. Robert is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy, class of 1964. He holds a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Masters in Education from the University of Washington. He served seven years on active duty before separating from the Air Force in 1971. While on active duty, he worked as a Weapons Controller, flew target drones, commanded intercontinental ballistic missiles as a launch officer, and worked as an Air Force missile propulsion engineer on the Titan III programs. From 1971-1973 he worked as a safety and reliability engineer for Martin-Marietta Aerospace and Rockwell International on SpaceShuttle design proposals.
From 1974 until his retirement from federal service in 1995, he worked for the FAA as an aircraft structures certification engineer. From 1991-1993 he served as an FAA attache to the US Embassy in Indonesia, advising that government on aircraft certification. From 1998-2016, he was employed as a High School mathematics teacher. In 2005, Robert published the book, "Faded Giant" with coauthor James Klots, which details his 1967 UFO incident while stationed at Malmstrom AFB, Montana. In 2013, he published, "Unidentified: the UFO Phenomenon," providing new details on the phenomenon.
His latest book is "UAPs and the Nuclear Puzzle" (2023.) In 2010, he co-sponsored a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC where he and six other ex-military witnesses testified to the propensity of UFO incidents at US nuclear weapons bases. In this episode of the UAP Files Podcast, I’m joined by retired British pilot Chris Crowther, who spent 42 years flying, logged around 22,000 hours in the air, and flew both aeroplanes and helicopters during a long aviation career that included several years in West Africa.
Chris shares a remarkable UFO sighting he experienced on 8 February 1978 while flying over the Wash on a corporate flight to Norwich. After a warning from Eastern Radar about unidentified traffic ahead, he says he and the captain saw around 12 black spherical objects flash past their aircraft at extraordinary speed, right at their altitude and in the opposite direction. Objects he later links to a very similar case: Airbus A320 UFO over Medellin, Colombia.
