COVID- 19 (Coronavirus).
Digital Release Still on April 7, 2020
Dear Friends,
The governor of the state of California has requested that any events of 250 people or more be canceled or postponed.
The theater we are using for the premiere of Close Encounters of the Fifth kind holds 800 people…..well over the recommended limit.
We have spoken with the theater and they are happy to let us postpone the premiere to another time when it is responsible and safe to hold a large gathering. Right now, we do not know when that will be. The afterparty will also be postponed until a new date is set for the theatrical showing of the film.
In the meanwhile we are planning a digital premiere on-line as a special event for April 7, 2020. We are working on the details of this on-line event and will send you the specifics as soon as we know them.
This was a difficult decision to make but we feel it is the responsible one in view of the ever increasing number of Covid-19 cases.
We absolutely will honor your premiere tickets when it is rescheduled. The film will still be released digitally on Tuesday April 7 at 12:01 a.m. eastern time (US) as scheduled.
We will provide codes to all crowdfunding donors of $25 or more at that time and will also provide codes to those of you who have purchased tickets for the premiere but did not participate in the crowdfunding. For those of you who purchased tickets - We will be sending you instructions on how that will work. The codes will go to whoever purchased the ticket and put his/her email in the Eventbrite system.
This postponement is unavoidable considering the current public health situation.
We thank you for your support and hope you enjoy your download of the film and still hope to see you at the premiere when it is rescheduled.
